Man to face court over Mitchell robbery

A 25-year-old man from Downer has been charged with multiple offences relating to a burglary of a takeaway shop in Mitchell, ACT Police said.

The man will face the ACT Magistrates Court on Wednesday charged with burglary, damage property and breach of parole.

Police responded to reports of a burglary at the takeaway shop on Sunday morning. The front door had been smashed.

A short time later police found a car used to leave the scene of the burglary. A search warrant was executed and items that matched those used in the burglary were found.

The 25-year-old was arrested on Tuesday night and was taken to the ACT Watch House.
