Man to appear in court after spate of burglaries and robberies around Bury New Road

A man has been charged  with robbing people in their own homes in Prestwich and Salford.

Gary Spilsbury, 46, of Bury New Road, Salford has been charged with two robberies in relation to raids on householders that took place on York Avenue, Prestwich and Bury New Road, Salford on Monday, September 30 and Wednesday, October respectively.

He has also been charged with two previous burglaries at different addresses in Albert Avenue, Bury and Bury New Road, Salford on Saturday, September 21 and Wednesday, October 2 respectively, as well as two counts of fraud.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court this Monday.
