Man "throws tin of paint" over police and allegedly gouges officer's eye

A man allegedly threw a tin of white paint over two police officers before setting a dog on them and gouging one officer's eye.

The man was arrested in Lisburn after allegedly attempting to remove his ankle tag, breaching bail and assaulting police officers.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "That’s one male arrested in Lisburn on suspicion of damaging his ankle tag by trying to cut it off, breaching his bail, and assaulting Police Officers, after he decided to throw a tin of paint over us, set a dog on us, and gouge one officer’s eyes. He remains in custody at this time.

"Both officers are okay, but the same can’t be said for their uniform. The male’s dog actually decided to bite the male himself and not any Police Officers. Karma..."
