Man threw bike at shop owner and then hurled racist abuse at him

A man threw a can of coke and bike at a shop owner after refusing to pay for an item.

Nottinghamshire Police are appealing for information following an incident at Brookhill News in Stapleford.

Officers were called at around 8am on Saturday, June 27 to a report that a man had entered the store in Brookhill Street.

After refusing to pay for an item he threw a bottle of coke and a bicycle at the shop owner and made racist comments towards him.

No arrests have been made.

Neighbourhood Inspector Simon Riley of Nottinghamshire Police said: "This behaviour is completely unacceptable and we are doing everything we can, including looking at all available CCTV footage, to find the man responsible for this.

"I would ask anyone who may have seen anything in the area around the time of the incident to come forward and help us with our enquiries."
