An incident near a petrol station and empty building sparked a large police presence.
Police were called to initial reports of a dispute on Cemetery Road in Southport on Wednesday at around 12.30pm.
Photos taken at the scene by eyeonsouthport show around four police vehicles, including two vans parked near the Texaco petrol station.

Fire crews from Mersey Fire and Rescue were also called to the scene.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said a a 61 year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of threats to cause criminal damage.
He has been released on conditional bail and enquiries are continuing.
In a statement released yesterday, a Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "We attended a property on Cemetery Road in response to initial reports of a civil dispute.
"At around 12.30pm on Wednesday, December 15 a man was detained on suspicion of threats to cause criminal damage and enquiries are ongoing."
In an update today, they said: "We arrested a 61-year-old man on suspicion of threats to cause criminal damage.
"He has been released on conditional bail and enquiries are continuing."
