Man threatened with knife and robbed of cash in terrifying street bench ordeal

Two men have been arrested after an armed robbery in broad daylight in Dundee.

Officers from Police Scotland were called to the Hilltown area of the city at around 1.20pm on Sunday, December 27 following reports of a knife attack.

A man was sitting on a bench when another man threatened him with a blade, then stole a sum of money.

Police have since arrested two men, aged 35 and 31, in connection with the incident, pending further enquiries.

Nobody was injured as a result of the attack.

Cops are urging witnesses or those who were in the area at around that time to get in touch.

Constable Mark Stewart said: “Thankfully nobody was injured in the incident but this was a frightening experience for the victim.

“Anyone who witnessed the robbery or who was in the area around the time of the incident is urged to contact police as soon as they can.

"Anyone with information call 101, quoting incident 1296 of 27 December, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
