Man threatened with a brick during terrifying robbery in Old Basford

A man was threatened with a brick and had his car stolen in a terrifying afternoon robbery.

Police have launched a witness appeal after the 26-year-old was assaulted and had his car stolen in Vernon Road, Old Basford, at around 5pm on Sunday, April 7.

He was stopped by a group of men in another vehicle, police said.

"The group of three or four men, believed to be in their 20s, made threats with a brick, also stole £500 and attempted to steal the victim's jewellery," said a Nottinghamshire Police spokesman.

"The group abandoned the car a few metres down the road and left the scene in a black Ford Fiesta prior to officers arriving.

"There were no injuries."

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has any information which may help the investigation, is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident 551 of April 7.
