Man threatened staff at Ladbrokes bookmakers in Sutton in Ashfield with a golf club

A man armed with a golf club threatened staff at a bookmakers in a 'terrifying' raid in Sutton in Ashfield.

The robbery happened at Ladbrokes in Mansfield Road at around 8.15pm on Monday, November 15.

No one was hurt and the man made off with cash.

Police, who have launched an appeal for information, said the suspect was white, around 5ft 8ins tall, of slim build and aged in his late twenties to early thirties.

He had a face covering on and was said to be wearing dark clothing, detectives said.

Detectives are now checking CCTV footage, and urging members of the public who were in the area around the time, and who may have information, to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Lauren Morgan, from Nottinghamshire Police, said: "Thankfully the staff members were not hurt but this would have been a terrifying ordeal for them which has left them feeling very shaken.

"We are conducting a number of lines of inquiry to trace the man responsible. I would ask anyone with any information which could assist us with our enquiries to get in touch with us.

“We would particularly like to hear from anyone who may have CCTV or dash-cam footage of the suspect arriving at or leaving the scene or anyone who believes that they may know who he is.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the force on 101, quoting incident 737 of November 25.

Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
