Man threatened shop staff as he stole £100 of vegan chocolate

A man threatened staff at a wholefood supermarket in Bristol, as he walked off with £100 of stolen vegan chocolate in his arms.

The man walked in to Better Foods on Sevier Street in St Werburghs last month, and helped himself to the chocolate, before being challenged by staff working there at the time.

Police released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to in connection with the robbery, which took place at 11.30am on Thursday, May 26.

UPDATE: Police have since identified the man pictured in an earlier version of this article, and the CCTV image has been removed

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset police said in the earlier appeal: “An unknown man walked into the Better Foods Store, on Sevier Street in St Werburghs, Bristol, and stole almost £100 worth of vegan chocolate.

“When the offender was challenged by staff, he threatened them before leaving the scene

“The man in the CCTV footage is described as white, of slim build with short, brown hair and a beard. He is wearing a denim jacket and grey jogging bottoms. Officers believe he can help with an ongoing investigation into an incident which took place on Thursday 26 May at around 11.30am. If you think you can help us identify the man in the CCTV image, please contact us,” he added.
