A man is searching for the kind stranger who 'made his day' by putting £160 towards the bill for his wife's birthday meal.
Andy Yates, 50, of Lark Lane, Aigburth was out with his wife, Ann, daughter, Katie, son-in-law Luke, carer Bernadette and her sister Debbie, at Mei Mei Chinese Restaurant on Berry Street for her 54th birthday.
After enjoying a pleasant dinner, Andy's carer asked a waiter for the bill when she was told £160 had been put towards it by a man also dining in the restaurant.

Speaking to The ECHO, Andy said: "We were having a really pleasant evening my carer went to get the bill.
"The waiter asked her to come over and when she came back to the table she said 'you'll never believe what's happened'
"The waiter said the man paid for his own meal and then asked to pay for ours as he thought it was lovely that we had all come out for a meal.
"I was just shocked and felt so grateful. We had a pleasant meal anyway and this just made the night even better.
"It's restored my faith in humanity."
After Andy got home he posted about what had happened on Facebook in hopes of finding the generous stranger to say thank you.
The post on social media read: "I'm severely disabled. My family & I went to Mei Mei's on Berry St. for a birthday meal.
"I don't know this gentleman whatsoever myself but if you do please pass on my sincere thanks. There's some very generous people in this city xx."
Andy added: "I know that this man might want to remain anonymous and that is completely fine, but I would love to meet him to say thank you.
"His gesture was amazing and really made my day. It's such a generous thing for somebody to do, especially as the bill was so much money!
"I just hope he sees this article or the social media post so he knows just how eternally grateful I am."
