Man, teen walk away after car flips onto roof, collides with tree

The two people in the car did not require hospital treatment.

A man in his 20s and a teenager have managed to walk away unscathed after their car flipped, crashed into a tree and landed on its roof in Melbourne's west.

The car was travelling along Dynon Road in West Melbourne at 3:00am in wet and slippery conditions when it overturned.

CCTV footage of the incident shows the car mounting the curb or a traffic island before flipping onto its roof and sliding metres along the road and into a tree.

The pair in the car did not require hospital treatment.

Emergency crews needed to cut the tree using a chainsaw to access the car.

Adriano, who works at a fruit and vegetable business nearby, said he came across the crash as he was getting to work.

"When I came, [they] were just getting out of the car, so I called triple-0 for them, and called the ambulance, but very, very lucky," he said.

"I would have parked my car there right were it landed if I was about two minutes earlier. Lucky the freeway was [down to] 40kph."
