A man and a teenager were arrested on gun and drug charges after a traffic stop last week in west suburban Aurora.
Investigators with the Aurora Police Special Operations Group pulled a car over about 5 p.m. on June 5 near Indian Trail and Lake Street, according to a statement from Aurora police.

The officers suspected there were drugs in the car and proceeded to search the driver, 22-year-old Tyrin Pugh-Cox, and his 17-year-old passenger, who was riding in the front seat, police said. They found marijuana, crack cocaine and a loaded 9mm handgun in the teen’s possession.
The boy was charged with felony counts of possession of a controlled substance, unlawful use of a weapon without a FOID card, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and armed violence, according to police. He was also charged with a misdemeanor count of cannabis possession.
Pugh-Cox was charged with a misdemeanor count of unlawful use of a weapon after investigators found a loaded Glock .45-caliber pistol inside the car, police said.
He was taken to the Aurora Police Department, where he was processed and released on bond, police said. The teen was taken to the Kane County Youth Home. They’re both due back in court later this month.
