A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a three-car smash in Long Eaton.

Police officers and an air ambulance were called to the scene of the incident on College Street at around 3.30pm yesterday (July 11).

One of the drivers was seriously injured and had to be taken to Queen's Medical Centre by a road ambulance after the crash took place between a Toyota, a Citroen and a Ford Focus.

The road was closed between Canal Street and William Street while the incident was dealt with, but reopened around 8.30pm, DerbyshireLive reports.

Motorists were advised to avoid the area and some Trent Barton buses had to follow diversions.
