Man taken to hospital with serious injury after assault at Perth beauty spot

A man had to be taken to hospital after he sustained a serious injury during an attack at a Perthshire beauty spot over the weekend.

Police Scotland was yesterday asking anyone who saw the man being seriously assaulted at Loch of Clunie near Blairgowrie in the early hours of Sunday morning to get in touch with officers straight away.

A spokesperson said: “We are appealing for information following a serious assault at Loch of Clunie, near Blairgowrie, around 3.30am on Sunday, May 31.

“The incident happened between the A923 and the road at the north bank of the loch. A 57-year-old man sustained a serious injury and was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.

“Anyone who can help with our investigation into what happened is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0705 of May 31.”
