A man has been taken to hospital after a crash in Rochdale.
Emergency services were called to the incident on Whitworth Road at around 7.30am this morning (Thursday).
It has not been confirmed how many vehicles were involved in the collision, though an eyewitness told the M.E.N that one car had overturned at the scene.
The eyewitness said it happened near the Tesco Express.
A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service confirmed a man had been taken to hospital after the crash. He was seriously injured.
In a tweet, Transport for Greater Manchester said Whitworth Road was closed between Bernard Street and Bentley Street.
Traffic and local bus routes were diverted away from the area.
The road reopened after around an hour.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson confirmed officers attended at the incident.
