Man taken to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by car

A man hit by a car was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police were called just after 5pm on Wednesday to reports of a crash on Overpool Road in Ellesmere Port involving a pedestrian, a grey Transit panel van and a Ford Focus C-Max.

The pedestrian - a man in his 20s - was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Eyewitnesses said the road was closed near Overpool Station each side of the bridge.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police confirmed the road was blocked for a short time while emergency services dealt with the incident.

The spokesperson for the force said: "Officers were called just after 5pm on Wednesday, December 22 following reports of a collision on Overpool Road involving a pedestrian, a grey Transit panel van and a Ford Focus C-Max.

"The pedestrian, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

"The road was blocked for a short time while emergency services dealt with the incident."
