Man taken to hospital with puncture injuries and three arrested after serious assault

A man has been taken to hospital with puncture injuries after being assaulted in Cardiff and three people have been arrested.

Police were called to Ivy Street, in Canton, at 3pm on Saturday following reports of a disturbance involving a group of people.

A 35-year-old was taken to the University Hospital of Wales to receive treatment for non-life threatening puncture injuries. He remains in a stable condition.

Two men, aged 37 and 32, and a 32-year-old woman have been arrested in connection with the incident and are in police custody.

An investigation has been launched by South Wales Police and a police cordon was set up in Ivy Street. One witness saw an officer wearing a hazmat suit entering a property.
