Man taken to hospital with 'potentially life-threatening injuries' after motorbike smash

A man has been taken to hospital with 'potentially life-threatening injuries' after a motorbike crash in Salford.

Police were called to the scene at the junction of Blackfriars Road and Trinity Way, near the Blackfriars pub, just after 5.30am this morning (January 7).

A car and motorbike collided, a spokesperson for GMP said.

A man was taken to hospital from the scene.

His injuries are 'potentially life-threatening'.

No arrests have been made and enquiries into the crash are ongoing.

Two lanes at the scene were closed off for some time after the incident but have since been reopened.

In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "We were called just after 5:30am this morning to reports of a collision involving a vehicle and a motorbike.

"Emergency services attended and a man has been taken to hospital with potentially life threatening injuries.

"There have not been any arrests and enquiries are ongoing."
