A man has been taken to hospital with potentially life-changing injuries after falling from the second floor of a block of flats in Stockport.
A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault following the incident, which happened in the early hours of Thursday morning.
He remains in police custody for questioning.
Police were called to Ratcliffe Towers, on Bosden Fold, at around 2.25am following reports of a 'disturbance'.
The victim, a 20-year-old man, was taken to hospital.
A forensic tent was put up outside the tower block following the incident.
The area was taped off for several hours.
A resident, who didn't want to be named, said his neighbour reported hearing a 'thud' at around 2am.
Police and ambulance crews then rushed to the scene.

"It's a shock when it's on your doorstep", he said.
Another resident said he saw the area cordoned off when he woke up at about 7am.

A GMP spokesman said: "Shortly after 2.25am this morning, police were called to Ratcliffe Towers in Stockport to reports of a disturbance.
"A 20-year-old man was taken to hospital, where he remains with potentially life-changing injuries.
"A 23-year-old was arrested on suspicion of assault. He remains in custody for questioning.
"Enquiries have since established that the man had fallen from the second storey window.
"A scene was in place on Bosden Fold, while investigation work was carried out but this has now been closed."
