Man taken to hospital with head injury after city centre attack

Police have cordoned off an area of Bristol city centre after a man was assaulted.

A man in his 40s suffered a head injury after being attacked by another man in Broad Quay at around 4.30am today (July 6).

An Avon and Somerset Constabulary spokesperson said: "He has been taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening."

The tape remains in place as of 11am today. One police vehicle is at the scene.

The spokesperson added: "An investigation into this incident is under way and if anyone has information which could help they should call 101 and give the call handler the reference number 5219153050."
