A man was shot in Canberra's north on Thursday in what police believe to be a targeted attack.
The man was transported to hospital from Bendora Crescent in Palmerston with non-life threatening injuries, consistent with a shooting.
Police were called to the property to respond to the incident just after 2pm.
At the same time, several people in the area were seen running through the streets, with one appearing to be carrying a firearm.
ACT Police have reported a vehicle was also seen being driven erratically through Palmerston.
"At this time, police do not believe criminal gangs were involved," ACT police said in a statement.
"There is no threat to the wider community."
