Man taken to hospital following hit-and-run in Salford

A man was taken to hospital with leg injuries following a hit-and-run in Swinton.

Police were called to the Shell petrol station on East Lancs Road at around 2.40pm on Thursday (March 11).

They received reports of a collision between a man and a vehicle.

A 34-year-old man was taken to hospital with leg injuries. The vehicle failed to stop at the scene.

Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and no arrests have been made, a spokesman for GMP said.

In a statement, the force said: “Police were called following a report of a collision between a man and a vehicle at a petrol station on East Lancashire Road, Swinton, at about 2.40pm on Thursday 11 March, 2021.

“The vehicle failed to stop following the collision.

“A 34-year-old man was taken to hospital with leg injuries.

“No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.”
