Man taken to hospital following crash between car and motorcycle

A man has been injured during a crash between a car and a motorcycle near an industrial estate in Stockport.

A 33-year-old man was taken to hospital following the collision - which happened on Whitefield Road, in Bredbury, at around 6.30pm on Sunday (March 21).

His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Whitefield Road was closed for a time while emergency crews worked to help the injured man and make the scene safe.

The road has since re-opened.

Transport for Greater Manchester tweeted on Sunday afternoon: “ #AshtonRd #Bredbury is currently CLOSED between Stockport Road West and the roundabout due to a serious collision

“Emergency services are on scene

“Please divert via #Portwood or seek an alternate route #TfGMtraffic

Police are now asking anyone with dashcam footage, or any witnesses to the collision, to get in touch.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: “At approximately 6.30pm this evening officers were called to a report of a road traffic collision between a car and a motorcycle on Whitefield Road Bredbury Stockport.

“A 33-year-old male was taken to hospital with non- life threatening injuries. Road closures were in place but have since been lifted.

“Police would like anyone who may have witnessed the accident, or have dash camera footage to ring 101 quoting log 2428 21/03/21.”
