Man taken to hospital as police seal off Scots street following 'disturbance'

Police have sealed off a residential street this evening after an alleged disturbance, which has left one man in hospital.

Officers swooped on Monkland View Crescent in Bargeddie, North Lanarkshire shortly before 8pm.

One witness told the Record he heard there was an alleged " rammy ".

"The whole area is cordoned off. It’s now a crime scene," he added.

Images show police sealing off the street with vehicles behind the cordon.

Police confirmed a 39-year-old man was taken to hospital - his condition is unknown.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Officers were made aware of a disturbance on Monkland View Crescent in Bargeddie shortly after 7.50pm on Monday, 1 June.

"A 39-year-old man has been taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment following the incident.

Police confirmed an arrest had been made and appealed for witnesses to come forward.

The spokesman added: "Enquiries are ongoing and at an early stage."
