Man taken to hospital and three arrested following 'disturbance'

One man was taken to hospital and three people have been arrested following a ‘disturbance’ in Bolton.

Police were called to Monks Lane in Breightmet to reports of a fight at around 11.15pm on Saturday (August 21).

A man was found with injuries to his back, shoulder and arms.

He was taken to hospital and later discharged.

Work is ongoing to determine how he sustained his injuries, a spokesman for GMP said.

Three men, aged between 28 and 36, have since been arrested on suspicion of affray and one male was further arrested on suspicion of assault. All three remain in custody.

In a statement, GMP said: “Police were called around 11.15pm on Saturday 21 August to Monks Lane, Bolton to a report of a disturbance and three males fighting.

“Emergency services attended and located one male with injuries to his back, shoulder and arms. He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and has since been discharged.

“Enquiries are ongoing to ascertain how he sustained the injuries.

“Three men, aged between 28 and 36, have all been arrested on suspicion of suspicion of affray and one male was further arrested on suspicion of assault.

“All three remain in custody and enquiries are ongoing.”
