A man was taken to hospital following a violent altercation at the weekend in Rutherglen.
The 34-year-old was left injured after the incident, which took place on Chapel Street.
Police confirmed they are investigating, but declined to comment on social media speculation that the man had been stabbed.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a disturbance at Chapel Street shortly before 10pm on Saturday.
“A 34-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment to a non-life threatening injury.
“Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.”
