A motorist was taken to hospital after a two car crash in Toxteth this evening.
Police were called to the scene on Kingsley Road at about 6.30pm following reports of an accident near the junction with Upper Parliament Street.
Witnesses said an Astra taxi and a Ford Focus were involved in the smash which also brought fire appliances and an ambulance to the street.
A roof was cut off one of the cars by fire crews and one of the drivers, who suffered minor injuries, was taken to hospital.

The other driver was said not to be hurt.
The road was later reopened.
