Man taken to hospital after two car crash on major Scots road

A man has been been taken to hospital following a two-vehicle crash on a major Scots road.

Police attended the incident on the A91 between Menstrie and Blairlogie around 6.20am on Wednesday July 7.

The male driver of one of the vehicles was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital with minor injures.

The other male driver will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with road traffic offences

The road was closed with no access from the roundabout at Menstrie Main Street and Gogar Loan was used as an alternative.

First Scotland East said on Twitter that their 52 service would divert towards Alloa via the A91 A907/Tullibody Bypass/Menstrie.

Services heading towards Stirling would also use Menstrie Brae/Tullibody Bypass/A907 A91.

However, the road has since been re-opened.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received report of a two-vehicle crash on the A91 between Menstrie and Blairlogie around 6.20am on Wednesday, 7 July, 2021.

"The male driver of one of the vehicles will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with road traffic offences and the male driver of the other vehicle was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital with minor injuries.

"The road was re-opened around 9.35am.”

It comes after a lorry crashed down an embankment on the A91 between Skeoch Farm Roundabout and Greenyards Roundabout in Stirling earlier this month.
