A man became trapped in a car after a crash at Anna Bay on Wednesday afternoon.
Emergency crews - including the Westpac Rescue Helicopter - were called to Nelson Bay Road just after 4.30pm where they found four people trapped in a car.
Two children, boys aged two and four, and a 40-year-old man were immediately pulled from the vehicle, a NSW Ambulance spokesman said.

But he said the driver, a man whose age had not been confirmed at the time of publication, was trapped for about 40 minutes until emergency crews freed him.
The driver is being taken to John Hunter Hospital with a mild head injury.
The two children have been taken to hospital to be checked by a doctor as a precaution.
The adult passenger did not require hospital treatment.
