A man has been taken to hospital following a serious crash on the A19.
Emergency services were called to a road traffic incident on the northbound carriageway near Seaton Burn just before 9pm on Wednesday.
Police closed the road between the A189 Moor Farm Roundabout and the A1068 junction at Seaton Burn.

Paramedics treated a man at the scene before transporting him to Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, in Cramlington.
The extent of his injuries are currently unknown.
A North East Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called at 8:48pm yesterday evening to reports of a road traffic incident on the A19 near Seaton Burn.
"We sent two Hazardous Area Response Teams and an ambulance crew and took a male patient to Cramlington Hospital."
The A19 was closed for around four hours with Highways England also at the scene assisting with the incident.
At the time, Highways England said: "The northbound entry slip-road from the Cramlington Interchange (A1171, B1319) is also closed due to this incident.
"Northumbria Police are on scene and advise this will be a protracted closure as a the severity of the incident requires a full investigation."
