Man taken to hospital after pub brawl - Call police if you recognise these men

A man was left with broken ribs and needing stitches after a serious assault outside a Wetherspoons pub in south Bristol. Police are hoping to identify five men in connection with the public order incident in Bedminster.

Officers from Avon and Somerset Police were called to The Robert Fitzharding pub, Canon Street, following disorder involving a number of men in the smoking area at approximately 11.30pm on Wednesday, February 2.

"One person, in his 30s, was found to have been assaulted and was taken to hospital for treatment," the force said in a statement. "They sustained a number of nasty injuries, including broken ribs plus a head injury that needed stitches."

The pub was busy on the night in question and therefore the force hopes there may be a number of witnesses who can assist them with their investigation.

They continued: "We have studied CCTV footage and there are five men we asking the public to help us identify. We would like to speak with them in connection with this incident."

Anyone who recognises them, or witnessed what happened, is encouraged to call 101 and give the call handler reference number 5222027336. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
