Man taken to hospital after police incident underneath bridge in Bulwell

A man has been taken to hospital following an incident which led to an area under a bridge in Bulwell being taped off.

Nottinghamshire Police says the cordon was set up on Main Street, near Bulwell Bus Station, at around 5.45pm on Friday, July 24.

The cordon spanned the Station Street bridge which runs across the River Leen.

A spokeswoman for Nottinghamshire Police said East Midlands Ambulance Service had first reported the incident to the force.

She added: "We were called to reports of concerns for a man's safety near the bus station in Main Street, Bulwell, at around 5.45pm.

"The man was taken to hospital by an ambulance. The scene (cordon) was there because a knife was recovered."

The cordon has since been removed from the area following the incident earlier in the evening.
