Man taken to hospital after police called to Roath Rec, Cardiff, in early hours

A man has been taken to hospital after police were called to Roath, Cardiff, in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Officers from South Wales Police arrived at the area's recreation ground, commonly referred to as Roath Rec, at 3.30am on April 19 after concerns were raised about a man in the playground.

The 27-year-old man, from Cardiff, is in a stable condition at the University of Hospital.

A police spokeswoman said: "At around 3.30am on Sunday, officers attended Roath Park Recreation Ground following welfare concerns for a man in the playground.

"A 27-year-old local man was taken to the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, where he remains in a stable condition."
