A man has been taken to hospital after police were called to a street fight in Fallowfield.
Officers attended Wilmslow Road at the junction of Whiteoak Road shortly after 5pm on Wednesday after reports of a disturbance.
A group of men had been involved in a fight which led to one man being injured, police said.
He has been taken to hospital for treatment.
The extent of his injuries have not been confirmed, but are not understood to be life-threatening.
Police have taped off a section of Wilmslow Road outside a block of flats, next to the Lansdowne Hotel.
Forensic officers could be seen searching the scene for evidence on Wednesday evening.
One eye witness told the Manchester Evening News he had seen a group of men fighting outside the Lansdowne Hotel before it spilled out into the street.
"It looked like one of the men was knocked unconscious and then all the police cars and ambulances arrived."
Local residents reported seeing a number of police vehicles and paramedics from North West Ambulance Service on the scene.
An investigation has been launched and enquiries are ongoing.
A spokesperson for GMP said: "Officers were called just before 5pm this afternoon (Wednesday 24 March 2021) to Whiteoak Road, Fallowfield to a report of a disturbance.
"Officers are currently in attendance and initial enquiries have established a group of males have been involved in a fight.
"One male has been taken to hospital."
