Man taken to hospital after late-night car crash

A man has been taken to hospital after a late-night crash in Carmarthenshire. The incident happened on the A484 near the village of Cynwyl Elfed shortly after 9pm on Sunday.

A section of the road between Cynwyl Elfed and Carmarthen was shut for more than two hours with emergency services including police, fire crews, and paramedics called to the scene. You can keep up to date with the latest Carmarthenshire news by signing up to the local newsletter here.

The crash involved one car and police have confirmed that an injured man was taken to hospital. The extent of his injuries are not known at this stage. A spokesman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: ”We were called to a one-car collision on the A484 Cynwyl Elfed shortly after 9.15pm on Sunday, October 23.. One man was taken to hospital and the road re-opened at around 11.30pm.”

A spokeswoman for Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: “At 9.13pm crews from Carmarthen attended an incident on the A484 Cymwyl Elfed. The incident involved one private motor vehicle. Crews left the scene at 11pm.”
