Man taken to hospital after fight breaks out in Piccadilly Gardens

A man has been taken to hospital following a fight in Piccadilly Gardens.

Police were called to Manchester City Centre at around 12.50am on Sunday morning, to reports of a fight.

A man, believed to be in his 20s, was taken to hospital for treatment following the incident.

His injuries are not thought to be serious.

Officers attended the scene but found a group of people had fled before their arrival.

Pictures from the scene show a number of uniformed attending to the man as he lay injured.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the fight, to come forward.

A spokesperson for GMP said: "At around 12.50am on Sunday 2 August 2020, police were called to reports of an fight in Piccadilly Gardens, Manchester City Centre.

"Officers attended but the group dispersed prior to their arrival.

"A man in his 20s has been to hospital. His injuries aren’t believed to be life threatening."
