Man taken to hospital after falling unwell whilst driving on busy Ayr road

A man has been taken to hospital this afternoon after falling ill at the wheel on a busy road in Ayr today.

Emergency services raced to the scene on Miller Road in the town with the incident happening around 12.20pm.

The man is said to have taken unwell whilst driving a car on the street.

Paramedic crews took the man to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock for treatment.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told Ayrshire Live: "Around 12.20pm on Wednesday, July 14, police were called to a report of a man having taken unwell while driving a car in Miller Road, Ayr.

"Emergency services attended and the man was taken to Crosshouse Hospital for treatment."
