Man taken to hospital after crash in Salford

A man in his 50s has been taken to hospital after a crash involving a car and push bike.

Paramedics and police rushed to the scene on Salford Crescent just after 1.45pm this afternoon.

A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service said: "We were called to a road traffic collision involving a car and push bike at 1.46pm.

"We have sent one ambulance to the scene.

"One patient was treated at the scene for injuries then taken to hospital. A man in his 50s."

Paramedics were at the scene for around 45 minutes.

The carriageway along Salford Crescent heading outbound from Manchester was obstructed for some time, causing traffic delays and queues stretching from Adelphi Street to Albion Way.

Transport for Greater Manchester has advised travellers to seek an alternative route and that buses have been diverted away from the area.

There is also congestion to Trinity Way.

Greater Manchester Police has been contacted for comment.
