Man taken to hospital after crash between motorbike and car on M60 near Eccles

A man has been taken to hospital after a crash between a motorbike and car on the M60.

Emergency services were called to the collision near to junction 11 for Eccles on the anticlockwise carriageway at around 7.30am on Friday (June 19).

Police closed one lane on the main carriageway and an entry slip road while they dealt with the incident.

The crash involved a motorbike and a car.

One man - aged in his 40s - was taken to hospital from the scene.

He suffered a leg injury, a spokesperson from North West Ambulance Service said.

"We were called at 7.21am on Friday", the NWAS spokesperson added in a statement.

"We've attended with an ambulance and have taken a patient to hospital with a leg injury.

"The patient is a man in his 40s."

Highways England confirmed that the road was reopened at around 8.30am.

Traffic was reported to be 'very heavy' in the area while the road was closed.

In a tweet, North West Motorway Police said: "Good morning everyone, B block with you for the day shift.

"We are currently dealing with an RTC between a car and motorbike at Junction 11 entry slip M60 anticlock."

In an update, Highways England said: "All vehicles have safely resumed and all lanes including the slip road are now re-open, thanks for your patience."
