Eyewitnesses said the car park of the club on Gorton Street in Eccles was taped off whilst medics worked on the man.

Officers were then said to have remained at the scene for a while after the man was transported to hospital.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) today confirmed the incident was a "medical episode."

A spokesperson for North Manchester Ambulance Service (NWAS) said: "We took a call at 20:06 last night to reports of a male who had collapsed at this location.

"We sent a rapid response vehicle, and two ambulances to scene.

"The patient was taken to Salford Royal Hospital."
