Man taken to hospital after collapsing at King Edward's Bay beach

A man was taken to hospital after he collapsed on the beach.

The North East Ambulance Service were called to King Edward's Bay at around 9.21am on Monday.

The Tynemouth Volunteer Life Brigade and Blyth Coastguard Rescue Team were also called after the man had collapsed.

A paramedic crew attended the scene where they transported the man to hospital.

A spokesman for the North East Ambulance Service said: " We were called at 9.21 this morning to attend a man who had collapsed at King Edward's Bay beach.

"A paramedic crew attended and took the patient to Northumbria Hospital."
