Man taken to hospital after city centre attack

A man was taken to hospital after an attack in the city centre.

Corporation Street was cordoned off following the incident on Saturday night.

Police were called to the scene at about 8.20pm.

A 45-year-old man was taken to hospital for 'minor injuries', a GMP spokesman said.

No arrests have been made.

In a statement, GMP said: "At around 8.20pm yesterday, police were called to reports that a man had been assaulted on Corporation Street in the city centre.

"Officers attended and a 45-year-old man was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

"He has since been discharged to recover at home.

"No arrests have been made."
