Man taken to hospital after car is driven at group before flipping over during 'disturbance' in Hyde

A man was taken to hospital after a car was driven at a group before flipping over during a 'disturbance' in Tameside.

Police say they were called to Water Street, close to the Asda supermarket in Hyde just after 11:30pm on Friday night.

A car was found to have flipped onto its roof following an incident.  

"It is understood that a man drove his car at a group of men after having his car damaged" Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said.

A man, who the Manchester Evening News understands was the car's driver, was taken to hospital as a precaution with an arm injury but has since been discharged.

No arrests have yet been made and enquiries into the incident are ongoing a GMP spokesman said.

Officers are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
