Man taken to hospital after car flips on its roof in Wythenshawe

A man has been taken to hospital after a car flipped on to its roof following a crash in Wythenshawe.

Emergency services were scrambled to Altrincham Road in Baguley on Tuesday afternoon to a collision between two vehicles.

Witnesses described seeing the area flooded with police, paramedics and fire crews, after reports that a man was trapped inside a vehicle.

The man, thought to be in his 20s, was taken to Salford Royal Hospital following the smash.

His condition is not yet known.

Road users reported delays in the Baguley area after police sealed off Altrincham Road at the junction of Southmoor Road.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson confirmed they were called shortly before 2.30pm to reports of a vehicle on its roof.

A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service said: "We were called to a road traffic accident between two vehicles at 2.30pm to reports of a male in his 20s trapped in a vehicle.

"He has been taken to Salford Royal Hospital."
