Man taken to hospital after being stabbed in unprovoked attack

A 27-year-old man was taken to hospital after being  stabbed in an apparent unprovoked attack at Troon Harbour.

The injured man was stabbed in the abdomen in the town’s Harbour Road on Thursday at 6pm.

He was left with serious bit non-life threatening injuries.

He was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Ayr where he was treated for his injuries.

The suspect fled in a black vehicle, possibly with roof bars, which had a further three or four occupants within.

Detective constable Paul Gartland, of Ayr CID, said: “This was an unprovoked attack. We are appealing to anyone who may have seen the vehicle in the area around the time of the incident.

“Anyone with information should call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 2894 of 28 November, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
