A man has been taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was stabbed in the abdomen.

Just before 3am, emergency services were called to Kulbina Drive, Salisbury North, after reports a man had been stabbed.

Police said they believed the victim, a 23-year-old from Salisbury North, was at an undisclosed location before returning to the Kulbina Drive address, from where emergency services were called.

Investigations are continuing and police do not believe the incident was a random attack.
