Man taken to hospital after being stabbed in street in Hyde

A man was taken to hospital after being stabbed in the street in Hyde.

Police were called to reports of a stabbing on Union Street in the early hours of Friday 22 May.

Paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after 6.30am and took a 25-year-old man to hospital with a stab wound.

He has since been discharged.

GMP confirmed that an officer deployed a tazer at the scene.

Two women, aged 15, and 25, were arrested on suspicion of assault and have since been released under investigation.

Photos posted on social media showed a forensic officer examining the road on Friday morning.

A spokesperson for GMP said: "At around 6.20am on Friday 22 May 2020, police were called to reports of a stabbing on Union Street, Hyde.

"Officers attended and established that a 25-year-old man had been stabbed. 

"He was taken to hospital. He has since been discharged.

"An officer deployed a tazer at the scene to maintain the safety of those involved.

"Two females, aged 15 and 25, were arrested on suspicion of assault. They have since been released under investigation.
