Man taken to hospital after being knocked over in central Cardiff

A man was taken to hospital after getting knocked over at a notorious junction in central Cardiff.

The man was hit by a Nissan Micra on Sunday afternoon while at the junction of Mackintosh Place with Albany Road and Crwys Road.

Police described it as a "serious road traffic collision" and said his injuries required hospital treatment.

It happened just before 5pm on August 22 at the busy junction where five roads converge: Mackintosh Place, Albany Road, Crwys Road, Richmond Road and City Road.

A spokesman for South Wales Police said: "At approximately 4.48pm [on Sunday] August 22, we attended a report of a serious road traffic collision involving a green Nissan Micra and a male pedestrian in Cardiff, on the junction of Mackintosh Place with Albany Road and Crwys Road.

"The male pedestrian has been taken to hospital where he is being treated for his injuries. The male’s family has been informed."

Officers are appealing for anyone that may have witnessed the collision, or who has mobile phone or dash cam footage of the collision to report it to them online, quoting reference number 843 , via direct message or on their website.
