Man taken to hospital after being hit by car on busy Chorlton street near Unicorn Grocery

A man has been taken to hospital after a collision on a residential street in Chorlton.

Officers cordoned off part of Albany Road, close to the Unicorn Grocery, following the road traffic collision on Monday evening (April 15).

Greater Manchester Police say a male pedestrian has been taken to hospital following the incident.

He is not believed to have been seriously injured in the incident.

A GMP spokesman said officers were called to the scene by the North West Ambulance Service just before 7pm.

"It appears that a male has been knocked down by a car, possibly while crossing the road.

"He has been taken to hospital by paramedics."

A police cordon was in place between Warwick Road and Brantingham Road for around 90 minutes while officers investigated the incident.

Transport for Greater Manchester tweeted: “Albany Road, Chorlton is closed between Brantingham Road and Wilbraham Road. #TfGMTraffic”
