Man taken to hospital after being hit by car in Perth

A man has been taken to hospital after a hit-and-run in Perth.

The 22-year-old was hit by the car outside McDonald’s on Perth’s Dunkeld Road at around 9.40pm last night (Tuesday, October 29).

He was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee with a serious leg injury.

The vehicle involved drove off after hitting the man.

Police officers investigating the incident are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Sergeant Paul Taylor from Police Scotland’s road policing unit said: “We’re appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident to come forward.

“We are particularly interested in speaking to the driver of a light coloured van, which is known to have been in the area at the time and if anyone has any information about this incident please contact us.”

Those with relevant information can contact Police Scotland by calling 101, quoting the crime reference number 3919 of October 29.
